Diane W. explains how she made this adorable mummy craft using a clay pot, old t-shirt, and a few other supplies.

  • Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Start out by painting the outside of both clay pots white. Turn the 7-inch clay pot upside down on your work surface. Stack the 6-inch pot on top of the 7-inch pot.

Diane used an old, white t-shirt cut into strips to create your mummy's dressing (you can also use scraps of fabric). Wrap the strips around the clay pots and glue them in place. The arms and legs were made by wrapping pieces of rope with t-shirt strips and attaching them to the pots.

To finish your mummy, cut a mouth out of a scrap of felt and glue it in place. Glue two wiggle eyes just above the eyes. If you want to make your mummy into a candy holder, add a clay saucer or plastic tray to the top of the head.
