These craft instructions teach you how to make a unique magnet using a can lid, a photo, and some dimensional paint. Instead of adding a magnet to the back, you can glue on a ribbon loop and use it as a decoration, an ornament, or even on top of a gift.

  • Age Guideline: 6 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 30 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Start out by gluing a strong magnet to the back of the juice can lid. Let the glue dry.

Cut the photo so it is about a half an inch smaller than the juice can lid. Glue the cut photo onto the front of the juice can lid. Let it dry.

Choose a few different colors of dimensional paint. Trace around the picture with dimensional paint. Continue with as many different colors of dimensional paint as you want. Once you have added all of the paint you want, drag the tip of a toothpick through the paint to blend in and make designs.
