Guide Review - Altered Books 103
The projects pictured in this book will take your breath away. The focus of this book is 'Altered Deco'. It defines a Deco as a miniture book of art, then goes on to explain it is handmade piece of art created from a variety of materials. Decos can be created from children's board books, CDs, drink coasters, greeting cards, and many other items you can dig up around your house.

This book features ten specific projects plus suggetions for several others. Make a CD Deco book using old CDs that are bound together and decorated, or a little book made using drink coasters found at many popular restaurants. I think my favorite project is 'The Eyes Have It Book' made using pocket pages.

The book is loaded with many beautiful colored photos, all of which will help to inspire you. Along with the projects and photos you will also find instructions for special techniques. The author teaches you to transfer pictures and words using packing tape. She also shows how to make an accordian fold book and even how to even how to handtint photos.

A great addition to any book shelf. These projects can de enjoyed by people from 5 to 105!
