Guide Review - Sew Hip Book

This wonderful reference and project book, along with it's instructional DVD, was created to help teach 'Generation Y' sewing basics and to try to instill in them a love for this versatile craft. The language used in this book is easy for kids to understand and they use terms that kids can related to such as in their 411 (information) sections.

The book features ten fabulous and fun projects. The projects offered encompass three different skill levels to not only help build sewing skills, but also confidence. Once your child has confidence in their sewing abilities, they can challenge themselves to go back to their favorite projects and take them one step further by modifying and customizing them to add their own special touches and create fun variations.

The book speaks in detail about different sewing supplies needed, and the DVD explains and demonstrates basic sewing tips and techniques. The projects included include 3 different belts, 4 different pillows, 3 bags and totes, along with a fun and easy quilt. When you and/or your child are ready to start sewing, check out the resource section to help find the tools and supplies you need.

This is a fabulous how-to book which I think will not only appeal to kids and young adults, but also beginners of all ages.
