Headless Football Player Costume
Home-Made Halloween Costume Idea

By Sherri Osborn, About.com Guide

Find out how to make this simple yet creative Halloween costume. Follow these directions submitted by Logmiesta22 and you can dress up as a headless football player.

Materials Needed:

  • Plastic Skull
  • Football Shoulder Pads
  • Extra Large Mesh Football Jersey
  • Small Hand Towel

Instructions:
Logmiesta22 suggests using a small hand towel to cover the top of your head. Put the football shoulder pads on top of your head and then put the jersey over that. Hopefully you will then be able to stick your arms through the arm holes and easily be able to see through the mesh fabric. To finish this costume, carry around the skull like it was a football.

From Sherri: If you cannot clearly see through the mesh fabric, cut small eye holes - safety first! Also, if you want to make this costume seem a little more gruesome, use a light colored towel and splatter it will red paint to look like fresh blood. If you have a sewing machine, why not use an old long-sleeved shirt to fashion fake arms and gloves to make hands.
