Giving Thanks Tree

Giving Thanks Tree

Sherri Osborn
This is a great way for your family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Have all your friends and family members add 'leaves' to your tree as they visit over the holidays.

  • Age Guideline: 5 Years and Up
  • Time Required: 15 minutes (Does not include drying time)

The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:
Fill the clay pot or jar with pebbles and stick the branch into the pebbles so it stands like a tree. Cut a variety of leaf shapes out of red, orange, and yellow construction paper. Use the hole punch to make a hole in each leaf. Cut a piece of ribbon, about 8" long for each leaf shape you have.

On each leaf, a person should write something they are thankful for. The ribbon can be threaded through the hole in a leaf and tied to the tree. Keep a basket full of blank leaves next to your tree so that your family or visitors can add leaves.
